All composition doll, socket head, blue sleep eyes, real lashes, painted lashes and dark eye shadow, single stroke brows, closed mouth with richly-painted lips, original elaborate coiffure with braided coronet at the crown and floral-decorated coiled braids at each side of face, jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: near mint. Marks: Alexander (head and torso) "Ballerina" Alexander (cloth tag on costume). Comments: Madame Alexander, the model is known as "Karen Ballerina", and was offered in the 1946 catalog of that firm. Value Points: exceptional pristine condition of the beautiful doll, with flawless complexion and coiffure, very fresh original tulle ballerina costume with gold rick-rack trim, matching petticoat and panties, ballet slippers, black velvet choker ribbon and wrist ties.
