Description
18" (46 cm.) Gofun complexion, high domed forehead with shaded hair at crown framed by inset black floss hair tied in knot at back of crown, brown enamel downcast eyes as though looking at the puppet dangling from his right hand, wearing original purple/black kimono with purple crepe lined sleeves beneath a black and white checkered tunic, sash, unusual monogram on shoulders. With 5" puppet in padded silk kimono. Included is small gilt screen, small box with lettering, original base with painted floral scene, and original box. Excellent condition, except lacking lid of wooden box. Japanese, Showa era.
