17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading and darker blue outer rims,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate,French kid torso and legs with gusset-jointing at hips and knees,square-cut collarette,wooden arms with dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows and wrists. Condition: generally excellent,body is deposed Bru model and albeit not original it is perfectly fitted and of the same era. Marks: 4 (head and shoulder). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1870. Value Points: beautiful face,rare body with wooden arms,fabulous antique costume including undergarments,leather shoes,bonnet,gilt metal purse,and chatelaine with fleur-de-lis brooch and with tiny mesh purse,gilt brass album,and keys.
