9" (23 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta cow posed resting, its head uplifted, cream painted finish with black accents including eye shadow around enamel eyes, well-defined ears, horns, and hooves. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, late 1700s, attributed to Francesco Gallo who was a modeler at the Royal Porcelain Factory specializing in animals. The presentation of animals in Neapolitan arrangements was considered of major significance.
