20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump cheeks, almond shaped brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined pale lips, pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, plump limbs, antique dress, undergarments, bonnet, stockings, and leather shoes signed Jumeau. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1880. Value Points: the early portrait model bebe has finest delicate bisque, original body with original finish. Provenance: ex-collection of Washington Dollhouse and Toy Museum.
