All-wooden doll with swivel head,carved coiffure with deeply comb-marked hair and chignon,carved facial features with painted eyes and eye liner,aquiline nose,full lips,loosely jointed body with unusual systems of jointing including dowel,peg,and rope tie,jointing at shoulders,elbows,wrist,waist,hips,knees and ankles,hollow torso with opening at the back for access to interior stringing. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: late 19th century. Value Points: rare and most compelling doll with intricate carving and articulation.
