18" (46 cm.) Carved wooden "bedpost" head with painted black complexion, carved definition of facial features include flattened nose, small black eyes, black painted brows, closed mouth with carved lips and row of teeth, black woolly hair, on original stiffened-cloth body with oil-painted features, separated large fingers, stitched-on boots, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American, circa 1885. Value Points: well-preserved American folk artist doll.
