Description

15" (38 cm). Solid domed bisque head with flanged neck, brown painted boyish hair with curls low onto the forehead, modeled ears, tiny blue glass sleep eyes, painted short lashes, lightly tinted brows, accented nostrils, open mouth with bow-shaped lips, blushed very plump cheeks, muslin torso, composition limbs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Copr. By J.L. Kallus Germany 1394/34. Comments: Germany, circa 1920, imported exclusively to America for Borgfeldt, and designed by the American artist Joseph Kallus, the model was marketed as Baby Bo-Kaye. Value Points: very rare character whose rarity is rivaled by its wonderfully expressive features and choice bisque.
