Bisque socket head with elongated face and very full cheeks, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his model known as Bebe Triste in homage to the doll's wistful sad expression, circa 1884. Value Points: beautiful brown-eyed bebe in rare size 9, original body and body finish, fine antique costume, undergarments, Jumeau socks and signed Jumeau shoes, bonnet.
