16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid domed, elongated facial modeling, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig with side coiled braids, composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S 8 H 949. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. Value Points: charming expression on the early closed mouth doll with beautiful eyes, near mint body, pretty antique costume.
