5" (13 cm.) x 7 1/2". The heavy stock box is decorated with an engraving of three ladies in a park, and edged with gold leaf border; the box hinges open to a well-fitted interior with six small decorated boxes originally fitted with chocolates and designed for later use as little boxes for beads and pins. A cardboard card holds an arrangement of bone sewing tools, and metal scissors and thimble, and lifts out to reveal an assortment of buttons, and sewing accessories. The inside lid of the box bears the label of the luxury French candy shop of F. Marquis. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880.
