The simply-constructed all-wooden dolls are designed with one-piece head and hollow torso and loosely-attached legs; when placed on a ramp, the dolls are designed to "walk", descending quickly or slowly depending on the angle of the ramp. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (some have remnants of original Made in USA stamp). Comments: The "Wilson Walkies" were made during the 1930s Depression Era at the Watsonville Door and Sash Company in Watsonville, Pennsylvania with the aim of providing work to hometown residents. The amusing figures were made in a variety of models, with cloth or painted costumes. Value Points: the collection including Santa Claus figures, nurses, Olive Oyl, penguin, black women, army soldier, and more.
