17" (43 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with loop-attachment at neck base, pink-tinted complexion, narrow blue intaglio squinting eyes, black upper eyeliner, shaded brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though open and crying, brunette mohair wig over painted hair, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, wearing boy's woolen and corduroy costume, socks, shoes, blue woolen sailor cap. Condition: generally excellent, rubs on painted hair under wig. Marks: 6 Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910. Value Points: wonderful character modeling of crying crinkles around the eyes and mouth, very choice bisque and painting, on the rare model.
