11" (28 cm.) Pink-tinted porcelain socket head with highly-characterized features, very large painted brown eyes with large black pupils, dark upper eyeliner, painted all-around lashes, feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with shaded downcast lips, blushed cheeks, brunette human hair, French composition body with jointing at shoulders and hips, wearing original chemise. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Sevres porcelain works, one of a series of seven "artistic doll heads" created by that firm in 1917 during the Renaissance of the French doll movement. Value Points: examples from that series are rarely found, this doll with exemplary quality of sculpting and artistic painting.
