Description
10" (25 cm.) All-cloth softly stuffed doll with center seam, needle stitch shaping of painted facial features depicting a gently smiling clown, large blue eyes, red clown accents, shaped ears, stitch jointing at shoulders and hips, wearing original clown suit and with stitched-on cap and painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Pat. Applied for Aug 21, 1914. Comments: the design was registered by Lena Gould, according to Johana Gast Anderton in her book Cloth Dolls. Value Points: very dear face on the rare cloth doll, with patent date.
