20" (51 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, brown painted hair in boyish fashion with well-defined forelock curl, brown glass inset eyes, brown eyeliner, painted brown curly lashes, one stroke arched brows, accented nostrils, slightly-parted lips with beaming smile, row of porcelain upper teeth, pronounced ears, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, wearing boy's costume with matching velvet jacket to his brother (lot #428) and with trousers, shirt, striped stockings, shoes. Condition: generally excellent, hands repainted. Marks: SFBJ 227 Paris 8. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912, from their art character series. Value Points: fine lustrous complexion of the delighted character boy with wonderful laughter crinkles around eyes, and impressed dimples into cheeks, double chin.
