17" (43 cm.) The cast porcelain statuary depicts the figures of Bacchus, god of wine, and his beloved Ariadne, posed with garlands of grapes in their hands and forming a coronet on Bacchus' head, with exceptional detail of sculpted curly hair enhanced with blushed details overall the bodies, and he holding a goblet for wine. The statuary is marked with blue stamp of intertwined C letters below a crown. Excellent condition. Germany, Ludwigsburg Porzellanfabrick, the 18th century firm used the double C/crown mark during the mid-1800s.
