19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump face, delicate complexion, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over original Schmitt plaster pate, composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, antique costume and bonnet, great tan leather shoes with silk rosettes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bte SGDG 3 (head) Sch (in shield, on derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. Value Points: beautiful early model of the rare bebe whose plump face nicely contrasts the delicate complexion, original wig, pate, body finish.
