17" (43 cm.) Stiffened composition head with flanged neck, thickly painted blonde hair with deeply-swirling curls, textured complexion, painted small brown eyes, thick black and red upper eyeliner with fringed lashes, dash brows, pointy nose with red accent dots, very full heart-shaped lips, stockinette handmade body (illegible green stamp on torso), antique costume. Condition: head excellent, body has some age spots. Comments: early 1900s. Value Points: the intrigue of the mystery doll enhances its artistic modeling and painting; its distinctive features lend the notion that the doll was created as a specific portrait model.
