18" (46 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and torso, elongated throat, shapely torso with flat-back, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted complexion with soft blush spots, shaped nose, fringe-dot eye lashes and brows, closed mouth, brunette hand-tied human hair wig, cloth upper arms, kid lower arms designed to appear as though gloves, wooden lower legs with dowel-jointed hips and arms, kid-covered feet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: English, circa 1790. Value Points: fine original finish that is beautifully-preserved, original wig, body with unusual "glove" hands and kid-wrapped feet as "slippers", and original costume of richly embroidered muslin with handmade lace collar.
