20" (51 cm.) All-wooden doll with one-piece head and body, sculpted carving of eyes, glazed enamel painted brown eyes, defined tiny nose, outlined lashes, brows, blush cheeks, tiny mouth, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted black boots, painted lower arms to match costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: old paper lining of skirt in early German print, early 19th century. Value Points: superb doll with original mohair wig styled in ringlet curls and trimmed with silk pastel tassels, the doll is wearing her original paper and cloth costume with hand-painted detail, applique front, embroidered sleeves.
