18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes with "dot" highlights, thickly fringed brows with feathering, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair over Steiner pate, French composition fully-jointed body with straight wrists, beautifully costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J. Steiner Fre A 11 Bte SGDG Paris (head) (original Steiner paper label on body). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1889. Value Points: most engaging shy expression with especially beautiful painting of lips, original body and body finish.
