20" (51 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features, large painted blue side-glancing eyes, painted curly upper lashes, V-shaped brows, closed mouth with O-shaped pursed lips, upturned nose tip, brunette mohair wig, jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Lenci, circa 1935. Value Points: rare model with wonderful googly-eyed expression, wearing original felt costume of a gentleman with tophat, boutonniere, and carrying a valise with applique lettering "Lettere d'amore"; the valise actually opens, forming into a little box designed to hold a love letter or engagement ring.
