22" (56 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of chubby-faced child, blonde sculpted hair in short tousled overall curls, fully sculpted ears, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted all-around lashes, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: an early model by Simon and Halbig, circa 1870. Value Points: the rarity of the early model is enhanced by wonderful expression, deeply sculpted curls, glass eyes, finest quality of bisque.
