5 1/2" (14 cm.) Each of the identical all-bisque dolls, styled in the flapper era manner, has one-piece bisque head, slender torso and legs with right foot turned sideways, jointed arms, painted facial features, brunette mohair bobbed wig, painted thigh-high yellow stockings and brown one-strap shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 126-2 Germany. Comments: Germany, circa 1910. Value Points: the collection of fifteen dolls, were specially commissioned to represent nurses from the Instructive Nurse's Association (INVA) of Richmond, VA. and are wearing their original uniforms, some with original caps marked INVA. The organization, established in 1900, was composed of nurses who volunteered their off-duty hours to provide home nursing care to poor citizens of Richmond.
