19" (48 cm.) Carton shoulderhead with painted white complexion and painted facial features, blue eyes in defined eye sockets, closed mouth, arched brows, white mohair wig, firmly-stuffed kid body with very slender elongated legs and arms, carved wooden "griffe" hands. Condition: very good, original finish albeit somewhat rubbed. Comments: French, circa 1820. Value Points: rare doll with original very sturdy body, wearing original festival costume of net with hand-painted dots and velvet pom-poms.
