11" (28 cm.) All-felt doll with plump swivel head, amber-tinted complexion, high domed forehead with high comma-shaped brows, modeled closed eyes, long painted lashes, closed mouth with original hole in center for pipe stem, stitched ears, black mohair wig drawn tightly up from face to form into a long queue, ball-shaped plump stomach on short legs, jointed arms. Condition: very good/excellent, slight dustiness. Comments: Lenci, circa 1921, the doll was identified in a 1922 Lenci advertisement as their "trademark" doll. Value Points: the doll wears its original wool felt costume of yellow, green, black and orange colors, with Chinese-character felt applique designs, and stitched-on ball-shaped cap.
