Description
14" (36 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket, tiny blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with outlined lips, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde fleecy wig, French composition fully jointed body with straight wrists and at upper torso for head attachment. Condition: bisque excellent, upper teeth repaired, body finish original albeit very scuffed on hands. Marks: (original Steiner cadeceus stamp on torso). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1877. Value Points: rare early Steiner bebe with lovely bisque, beautiful antique costume.
