13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with darker blue outer rims, daintily-painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the pale lips with upturned smiling lip corners, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips, wooden arms with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows and wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, the model known as "smiling Bru". Value Points: rare petite size with exquisite complexion and painting, original sturdy body with wooden arms.
