10" (25 cm.) Each has paper mache shoulder head with sculpted hair and painted facial features, slender kid body, wooden lower limbs with painted shoes; including woman with sculpted short curly hair, painted brown eyes, and wearing brown silk gown, shawl, bonnet, silk bag, undergarments; and gentleman with short painted black hair, blue painted eyes, gentleman's costume and top hat. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: well-preserved condition of the early pair, original painted finish, bodies, and wonderful original handmade costumes.
