22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks and chin, dark blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, heavy eyelids, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined shaped lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 10 (head) Bebe Jumeau Diplome d'Honneur (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884, the wistful-faced model sculpted by the noted French artist Carrier Belleuse as special commission from Jumeau. Value Points: very beautiful creamy bisque enhanced by most artistic subtle blush of eyelids, cheeks and chin, original wig, body and body finish, lovely antique costume and bonnet.
