16" (41 cm.) Amber-tinted bisque socket head with plump cheeks, small brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, short black feathered brows, open mouth, two porcelain upper teeth, tongue, painted black hair under black mohair wig, amber-tinted composition baby body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Made in Germany (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1912, their 243 model, this being the very rare painted hair variation. Value Points: wonderfully-preserved doll with original wig over painted hair, original body and body finish, and wearing luxurious original silk costume and headdress likely made by Gump's of San Francisco in their studios.
