17" (43 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with oval face and elongated throat, slightly-modeled bosom, black enamel eyes, lightly-painted lashes, arched brows, closed mouth, black human hair arranged elaborately with looped curls around her face, braided coronet at the forehead and four loops of narrow braids at the back of her head, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent with fine original finish, delicate nose rub, faint horizontal line at back shoulder plate, Comments: circa 1840. Value Points: exquisite early doll with superb original coiffure, original gown, and fine original finish.
