16" (41 cm.) Paper mache swivel head with gofun complexion, enamel inset eyes, painted facial features, closed mouth with upturned smiling lip corners, painted hair, classic Ichimatsu body with (non-working) bellows crier, Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (original paper label in torso). Comments: Japan, Ichimatsu play doll, late 19th century. Value Points: wonderful expression on the early model, wearing original costume, with fine original finish.
