15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, dainty closed mouth with outlined lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid gusset-jointed poupee body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Simonne boutique stamp on front torso). Comments: Maison Simonne, circa 1867, the luxury Parisian doll shop offered only the finest of dolls, costumes and accessories. Value Points: having brilliant cobalt blue eyes contrasting a delicate complexion, very study body, the doll is wearing original ivory silk gown of finest detail and with extended train, underwear, brown leather ankle boots, woven bonnet, and owns a paper-covered wooden trunk along with four additional gowns, five bonnets, snood, shawl, other costume elements, leather purse, bone-handled silk parasol (silk worn), and other accoutrements.
