10 1/2" (27 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, lushly painted lashes, thick brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J. Steiner Bte SGDG Fre A 3 (head) (original Steiner paper label of doll holding flag, on torso). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1890, the bebe was presented by the illustrious Parisian doll shop of Au Nain Bleu with distinctive dress created in the Au Nain Bleu workshops.
