Description
12" (30 cm.) Solid domed paper mache head with painted complexion and facial features, half-moon shaped eyes, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips and wide center line, (sparse) brunette mohair wig, cloth body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: very good, some few rubs on face, moth holes at side of cloche. Comments: designed by Jean Ray for Lang & Guillemaut, and presented in the Parisian shop of Au Bon Marche in 1921. Value Points: rare fashionable doll of the flapper years, wearing original costume comprising undergarments, orange cashmere wool belted coat with faux-fur trim, matching cap, twill full-length leggings, black shoes.
