14" (36 cm.) Paper mache head with highly-characterized features including oversized nose and jutting chin, painted complexion, painted blue eyes and black upper eyeliner, closed smiling mouth with painted teeth, white mohair wig, ivory silk jester costume over Polichinelle torso with classic humps at front and back torso, wooden hands, paper mache lower feet with orange shoes. Condition: Polichinelle excellent, some frailty of costume. Comments: French, circa 1890. Value Points: petite example of the popular culture figure with well-preserved complexion, original jester costume and Marquis bicorn hat, with original attached hanging strings.
