Each has hand-sculpted porcelain shoulderhead, short blonde sculpted curls (girl) or brown side-parted hair (boy), deeply defined narrow blue eyes, painted features, closed mouth with center accent line, muslin body, bisque arms and legs, painted white socks, blue one-strap shoes (girl) or brown shoes (boy). Condition: generally excellent. Marks: MDT 53 (head) Martha D. Thompson (body). Comments: portrait dolls depicting young Princess Anne and Prince Charles at the time of their mother's coronation in 1953 by American artist, Martha Thompson. Value Points: outstanding quality of portraiture, sculpture, and painting, original artist-made costumes.
