Description
8 1/2" (22 cm.) largest. Each is all-bisque, depicting Kewpie, with modeled topknot, side curls, painted side-glancing googly eyes, thickly-fringed lashes, and blue wings. Including four standing Kewpies with jointed arms (marked O'Neill on feet, and one with original red heart label), of which one has original cowboy costume and painted shoes and socks, and another has patriotic costume with striped ribbon wrap and a flag hat with "Wilkie and McNary" campaign button. Along with a miniature pair of Kewpie Huggers and a seated Kewpie with book. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1915, from original designs by Rose O'Neill. Value Points: wonderful collection of delightful Kewpies.
