16" (41 cm.) Pressed and painted cloth head depicting the young king, dark grey eyes, grey eye shadow, fringed brows, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, painted hair, firmly-stuffed cloth body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Farnell's Alpha Toys (cloth label on foot). Comments: English, Farnell, circa 1937, the doll was purchased in 1937 at the British Industrial Fair in London by the buyer of Marshall Fields department store. Value Points: near mint condition of the very rare variation of the portrait doll, wearing full coronation costume including "ermine" lined purple velvet cape, purple velvet tunic with gold braid, crown, scepter and orb, buckles and elaborate ornamentation.
