10" (25 cm.) A wooden theatre-like platform depicts a colorful village scene with painted mountainside background, cottage with shed and waterwheel, mountain tunnel with traversing sheep, and pathway with Tyrolean-costumed woman. A mechanism is hidden in the stage base, and when it is hand-wound, the waterwheel turns, the sheep move in and out of the tunnel and the woman turns from side to side while music plays. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1885. Value Points: superb original preservation of the delightful and well-detailed mechanical and musical toy.
