10" (25 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of man, bald pate except modeled tuft of black hair at his crown, amber complexion, enamel eyes, deeply-sculpted black beard and moustache, parted lips with painted teeth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted green wrinkled boots, wearing original costume comprising silk vest, green silk shirt, sash, white silk harem pants and turban. Excellent condition except paint worn bald pate under turban. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, very fine detail of beard.
