Description
5 1/2" (14 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged slender bisque torso, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig, peg-jointed elongated slender bisque arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1 (head and torso). Comments: French, circa 1880. Value Points: especially beautiful model, the mignonette is presented in her early woven trousseau box with a selection of undergarments, bonnets and shoes based upon original designs in La Poupee Modele. The doll is shown in Fascinating Dolls by Samy Odin, with note that the trousseau elements were made by Mathilde Heritier.
