Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, very pale complexion, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, very dainty painted lashes and brows, blushed eyeshadow and cheeks, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French all-wooden fully-articulated body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, and with ball-swivel waist, antique silk gown and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1867, the wooden body was deposed by Leon Casimir Bru inspired by the style of the century old European mannequin body; the Bru body was made with a higher refinement of sculpting and finish. Value Points: rare body model with unusual degree of articulation for this petite size.
