All composition with socket head, painted brown eyes, all-around brown eyeliner and painted lashes, red upper eyeliner, fringed brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with beautifully shaped upper lip, brunette human hair, jointed shoulders and hips, wearing white dotted Swiss dress with embroidery, undergarments, socks, shoes, and metal wrist tag. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Effanbee American Children (head) Effanbee Anne Shirley (torso). Comments: designed by Dewees Cochran for Effanbee American Children series, late 1930s. Value Points: an especially beautiful early example from the series with fine quality and painting of face and complexion, beautiful costume.
