All carved wooden doll, socket head, carved hair with arranged overall curls and forelock curls, deeply-carved intaglio blue eyes with pronounced pupils and outline, black upper eyeliner, tinted brows, strong nose, closed mouth with accent line between the solemn pale lips, rare model, all-wooden spring-jointed body, wearing antique romper suit, stockings, replaced Schoenhut shoes, Schoenhut pin. Condition: structurally excellent, professional retouch to face, finish worn on limbs. Marks: Schoenhut Doll Pat. January 17,’11 USA & Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1911, from the initial Graziano models without stocking groove in thigh but with original small nail at the back thigh for supporting stockings, the doll was offered for one year only and is very rare. Value Points: outstanding detail of sculpting, especially of eyes and hair, on the rare first-year series doll.
