14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, deluxe neck articulation allowing head to lean forward and side-to-side as well as swivel, blue glass eyes, thick dark eyeliner, lightly feathered brows and lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined pale lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, wooden arms with dowel articulation at shoulders, elbows and wrists, lovely antique silk costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D (head) B Jne Cie D Depose (shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the earliest version of his deposed facial model, with variation of the Bru deposed body which combined kid torso and legs with wooden articulated arms, circa 1867. Value Points: very beautiful poupee with rare body, superb original wig, lovely presence.
