Description
25" (64 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes with pronounced spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve- blushed eyeshadow, widely arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid gusset-jointed body, costumed. Condition: bisque is excellent, body is original albeit patched and fingers worn. Comments: Pierre-Francois Jumeau, circa 1875, the doll was an important feature in the Musee de la Poupee in Paris, with notable commentary that the costume had been constructed by its co-founder Guido Odin. Value Points: beautiful gentle face with gorgeous eyes.
