Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,small pale blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading and darker blue outer rims,dark eyeliner,feathered brows and lashes,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with pale outlined lips,heart-shaped upper lip and upturned lip corners,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows,hips and knees,shapely torso,square-cut collarette,stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: I (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,his "smiling poupee" was deposed in 1872. Value Points: beautiful enigmatic smiling expression enhanced by exquisite painting,especially sturdy original body,unusual antique silk costume with black lace and ruby bead trim,undergarments,shoes,and black lace cap with beaded fringe.
